Over 600 Apply For Training Programme Aimed At Next Generation Of Well Intervention Specialists

Well intervention specialist, Altus Intervention Ltd has received more than 600 applications for a seven-week UK programme which provides practical and theoretical training to those starting out in the oil and gas industry. 

The scheme, which aims to recruit and train employees across the company's well services disciplines, will see 10 trainees start this month and another 10 before the end of the year. 

Designed to develop the next generation of well intervention specialists, the programme is centred around both practical and theoretical training. 

Trainees will benefit from workshops delivered at the company’s training facility in Portlethen, where they will also be mentored by experienced Altus Intervention employees. 

Training will cover topics such as: health and safety; oil and gas industry context; mechanical wireline services; fluid pumping services; basic coiled tubing; nitrogen pumping services; and company services and operations. 

A similar three-month scheme has also been launched in Esbjerg, Denmark and has seen six trainees recruited to the programme.

“This particular programme focuses on building multi-disciplined crews from the outset, giving our personnel in-depth knowledge and expertise across a wide range of disciplines, ensuring we continue to deliver integrated well intervention packages to our clients.
