Production was tailing off from an ageing field. No viable means of using produced fluid for water injection was available. As such the operator challenged the Altus Intervention team to come up with a medium term solution to boost production until a permanent solution could be implemented.
Following a detailed design process, two positive displacement pumps were specified coupled with a pulsation dampener. Along with the connecting chicksan and hose package this allowed water injection to be maintained 24 hours per day, 365 days per year at circa 2.5bpm and 4600psi.
With the successful implementation of the pumping spread, Altus Intervention was able to assist the operator in boosting the field production rate. Coupled with drilling projects, this allowed the field to increase production by circa 50%.
To date, Altus Intervention has pumped almost 2,000,000 bbls of water and accumulated just over 30,000 man hours of successful work.
