Our 3-month trainee programme in Esbjerg is centred around providing practical and theoretical training to those starting in the industry. The vast experience and expertise our instructors have, combined with our excellent Well Intervention Academy (WIA) facilities in Stavanger, makes Altus Intervention the place to begin your journey.
The success of the global Multi-Service Training Programme in our Aberdeen and Stavanger branches has led us to extend our training programmes across the Norway and Denmark region.
The aim of the training programme is to train candidates to assume the position of wireline operator, with the required knowledge, skills and experience to further progress to more senior roles.
WHO?
The ideal candidate
The programme is designed to develop individuals with a mechanical background or knowledge. To qualify, candidates are required to hold the relevant Craft Certificate, such as a “Maskinmester”, “Smed”, in Denmark to demonstrate knowledge and understanding. Prior mechanic and hydraulic maintenance /electro/ automation engineering experience is preferred but not essential. Ideal candidates must be able to communicate in both English and Danish and live locally in the Esbjerg area.
WHAT?
Programme content
Your training will include the following:
• Basic safety and crane & lifting course
• Oil & gas industry context, including geology, completion and well intervention services
• Mechanical wireline services; surface equipment, rig up, downhole tools, toolstrings and pressure control
• Basic electrical wireline services, introduction to production logging and wireline tractor services
• Operational training on Altus Intervention services and operations
• QHSE perspective will be implemented throughout the training programme
Our experienced personnel will instruct the course, providing on the job training.
Cost
Altus Intervention will cover all costs pertaining to training, travel and accommodation.

Pay
You will earn while you learn on the job. Initially, you will receive a trainee level salary, which will then increase upon promotion to the position of wireline operator, subject to passing exams.

The first training program begins August 1st 2018 and will run for 3 months.
WHERE?
Location
The training programme will take place in Esbjerg and at the Well Intervention Academy (WIA) in Stavanger, Norway. The academy consists of practical testing and training facilities needed to create realistic offshore conditions. As most of the training will take place in Stavanger, you must be willing to stay in Stavanger for the duration of the training programme, however, certain trips home will be covered.
The Well Intervention Academy
WIA facilitates training in classrooms, workshops and the full-scale rig. We have two wells measuring 40m and 390m, replicating an offshore setup and conditions to provide as much practical experience as possible. Our impressive facilities also include a 28-metre high intervention rig tower. This provides the ideal environment for practical training and testing of tools and equipment.
